CIPROFLOXACIN 0.3%, BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE 0.02%

Category:

CFC a sterile solution contains CIPROFLOXACIN as active ingredient a synthetic broad spectrum antibiotic ophthalmic solution belongs to the class first generation bactericidal fluoroquinolone used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria gram positive or gram negative having rapid bactericidal activity with high potency. CIPROFLOXACIN has in vitro activity against wide range of bacteria. CIPROFLOXACIN is differ and more active from other quinolones because it contain fluorine atom at 6th position.

CIPROFLOXACIN works as bactericidal very actively by inhibiting enzymes i.e. topoisomerase II and topoisomerase lV which are required for bacterial complete DNA synthesis process such as replication, transcription, repair, strand supercoiling repair, and recombination. As a result bacterial chromosome cannot be transcribed which further cause breakdown of bacterial metabolism and cell wall lysis. CIPROFLOXACIN is widely distributed in the tissue of eye.
